Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award

David,

Thank you for participating in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. We received thousands of submissions and were impressed by the incredible talent and creativity seen in the entries. We are happy to inform you that you have been selected as a semi-finalist.

You can find your entry on Amazon.com via the following link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0011ZCASS, and access the main contest page where all entries are located at www.amazon.com/abna

Please note that we are continuing to update semi-finalist detail pages with any custom cover images that were submitted, editorial reviews, and other minor changes. These changes will appear online in the next few days.

Now that you're a semi-finalist, feel free to encourage friends and family to review yours and others' entries. The three customers who provide the most high quality reviews will be qualified to win one of three customer prizes, including an Amazon kindle reader, $2000 in Amazon gift card value, and an HP photo printer. Learn more at www.amazon.com/abna.

Good luck!

Just caught the link to your story on Diana's site. I read it and loved it! Good luck on the contest.

Hi, thank you very much for writing a review.

It seems as though only Americans can give reviews which is a bit of a problem for me as I don't know many to spread the word. Also I have noticed others posting links in Amazon forums to their downloads - but it blocks me from doing the same. I hope this will change as this would even mean I couldn't reply to a post in my own forum! In the meanwhile, if you know any friends or colleagues that might help out (not to mention read a fine chapter!) then I'd very much appreciate it.

I am also here by way of Diana's blog. I read and reviewed and would like to commend you on a job well done. Have you gotten any nibbles on publication? I'd love to finish the story when it is published.

Well done, again, and good luck with the competition.
Best,
Tee

That is really great, thank you for your feedback. It is so strange, but also fantastic to see my name up on Amazon and to think of all the people that suddenly have access to my work. I will keep this blog updated with any new information about publication or how I fare within the competition - fingers crossed!

Best wishes,

David

Just to let you know that I also wrote a review for SWR at Amazon. I've bookmarked your blog in the hopes of following the outcome of this competition. Hope you'll post here with updates and other news. Good luck.

Hi Midge,

Thank you for your review, your support is very much appreciated.

Sorry, I sound like a bit of a broken record on this blog, don't I? Or maybe a politician who wants to be elected...

Again, thank you.

David

Wow, I just read your Amazon entry and really enjoyed it. I was sucked in immediately and very sad to see the exert end. Unfortunately, I can't seem to leave a review as they seem to be snubbing Canadians. But I will check back to this blog, with fingers crossed, for more information.

I think the problem is that although you may have purchased from the Canadian Amazon, you need to have purchased from Amazon.com. After you have purchased it then takes 24-48 hours before it seems to recognise you as a $ spending human. I am not sure if this is based upon the status of your order - and if it isn't in stock if this delays things to prevent you from cancelling goods after posting. I can hardly ask you to buy something in order to post a review. Is there much difference in price between the Canadian and American site? If they were broadly similar and you were planning on buying something anyway then I would really appreciate if you bought it from the .com site and then gave me a great review! Otherwise, I totally understand and I am glad you enjoyed my chapter. It is so great that people are able to read at least some of my novel.
